We believe that the potential in forgotten, undervalued sites and buildings can be unlocked through ingenious design. We have many years of experience unravelling complexities such as ownership issues, rights of light, planning restrictions, stakeholders and neighbours. Placed on a tight, urban site, 4-7 Sudrey Street is a subtle intervention in the busy streetscape, echoing the colours and materials of the nearby alms-houses to create an active yet composed street frontage amid the rich, historic urban grain of Borough. The building, land-locked on three sides, comprises two white brick volumes, sitting on a red brick plinth with a set-back red zinc top floor roof volume, providing a commercial unit at lower ground floor level and six dwellings above.
